SEWER CoMNUSSI N MEETING MINUTES TH S AY,JUNE I 19" TOWN HALL Present; John Cahalan ,Dennis alzarir , Torn Fudala,Nate weeks Meeting convened at T06 p.m. The Commission reviewed the package that Nate weeks prepared for the SRIF application. Torn brought color naps of the project area for the application. e also has a snap of septic system failures from 19 1-1999. The systems either Failed an inspection or a problem was reported. There could be problems no one knows of Dennis would like to see all systems in the town inspected once. Tor, also had a neap of private wells where water test shoved nitrates above 5 parts per million. Nate reviewed the infornnation contained in the application. John said he is impressed with the arnount of work being done by Steams and Wheeler before any money is paid to then. Cover Letter: Torn asked that watershed approach be changed to watershed basis. Application; a 2 page form. John made a notion that the Sewer Commission submitted the SRF f nd ng application as prepared by Stearns and wheeler and signed by Toni dala� Sewer Commission Chairman. Dennis seconded the motion. All members were in favor Torn explained town counsel has said that Torn can legally sign the application. The package includes: - brief description of the project total eligible costs: $405,000 project schedule: including deadline of July of o get the contract signed with Stearns and Wheeler. The Commission will start to review the contract at the July 1 meeting. The earliest the work can begin is September 1999, depending upon when DEP finds the project. If the project is on the advanced list,it could proceed, We should have an early indication-whether it will be funded by early September. Torn said an article will have to be submitted for October town meeting in ease the project does � not get funded.
