The document says the Sewer <br /> Commission member should be appointed,not elected. It also says residents cannot hold 2 <br /> elected positions. <br /> Do the sewer conaission members want to send a letter to the Charter Corruafission re: how this <br /> effects the sewer commission and their apposition to the change from elected to appointed <br /> positions.? <br /> Couni Grant Program. <br /> Torn distributed copies of the announcement form the County regarding the $22.5,000 total <br /> available. Torn spoke with NateiWeel s of Stearns and Wheeler about drafting a proposal for <br /> Mashpee, requesting $26,000 to supplement the existing project. The propp ed work items <br /> would e: <br /> - analysis of different types of suer systerns available. <br /> -preliminary design, based on topo etc., which goes beyond what is in the S&W contract <br /> currently. <br /> This grants is a cooperative effort with Town of Barnstable; S & W is working with thew.also. <br /> Torn said the on site systems are not working as advertised. Mashpee has more than any other <br /> town. They only remove one-half of the nitrogen. <br /> There needs to be a entity to mange the A, <br /> �Ytems - even on-site ones. Homeowners are supposed <br /> to hire a contractor who monitors and reports on their performance. <br /> Dennis suggested asking the Board of Health for a copy of the report. <br /> Mashpee will match this grant with $7,000 from the existing study account <br /> Dennis made a motion to submit the application requesting $26,000 from Barnstable <br /> County to supplement Mashpee"s current study. John seconded the notion. All <br /> members were in favor - * <br /> If Mashpee receives this grant, it will be treated an as an addendum to the existing contract with <br /> Stearns and Wheeler. <br /> Charter Commission <br /> There is no mention of petition articles in the draft charter. Fin Coin made recommendation on <br /> all articles,not just"r money" articles.
