Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> October 15,2019 at 5:00 pm <br /> Mashpee Town Hall-Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Present: Allan Isbitz,Walter Abbott, Bruce Willard <br /> Absent: Berkeley Johnson, Marie Stone <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Isbitz opened the meeting at 5:25 p.m. with a quorum, and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES September 10, 2019 <br /> There were no recommended changes to the minutes. <br /> MOTION: Mr.Abbott made a motion to accept the minutes. Mr. Willard seconded the motion. <br /> All voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 950 Falmouth Road Progress &a Schedule-The Chair reported that a meeting was scheduled <br /> with Assistant Town Manager Wayne Taylor, Town Planner Evan Lehrer and Selectmen Sherman and <br /> Cotton. The Chair confirmed that he was in receipt of an email from Julie Creamer, which he shared <br /> with members, addressing the four points identified by the Committee. Ms. Creamer indicated that the <br /> bulk and interest of the buildings would be overcome, color and fagade variations would assist in <br /> scaling down the bulk, a community room would likely be located in the largest building and solar was <br /> intended prior to occupancy. It was Mr. Taylor and Mr. Lehrer's opinion that the project proponent <br /> would be able to address the concerns expressed. The Chair would be unable to attend the meeting but <br /> it was unclear whether another member of the Committee would attend the meeting. The Chair <br /> indicated that the Trust would likely meet to make a motion to satisfy concerns and proceed to <br /> negotiate a development agreement. <br /> Mashpee Commons-There was no update. <br /> Wampanoag Village-Mr. Abbott believed that the project had halted due to subcontractor <br /> issues. The Chair stated that he would follow up with Mr. Lehrer regarding the status of the <br /> application to SM. <br /> Habitat for Humanity-The Chair reported that 12 Cypress would be considered at Town <br /> Meeting on October 21. Mr. Abbott stated that he attended the recent wall raising, along with new <br /> Mashpee Selectman David Weeden. It was Mr. Abbott's opinion that there was other town owned <br /> land that could be considered in place of purchasing 12 Cypress. Habitat for Humanity's Beth Wade <br /> reported to Mr. Abbottt that the one acre lot may be able to accommodate two homes on either side of <br /> a ditch and asked for the Committee's support. The Chair indicated that Mr. Lehrer planned to discuss <br /> the possibility of Habitat developing rental properties. <br /> 243 Cotuit Road-The Chair and Mr. Abbott met with Mr. Pena's sister-in-law to discuss the <br /> project with her further, who indicated that they may have addressed the Committee before they were <br /> ready. The project proponent planned to return at a later date with another presentation, after resolving <br /> some of the issues. There was an awareness that there was opposition to the project in the abutting <br />
