COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> MEETING,November 20, 2019 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER <br /> Present Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Marijo Gorney,Nora McCormack, Michael <br /> Murphy, Jean Noussee and Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman. And not attending <br /> were: Rachel Hodgman and Virginia McIntyre. <br /> Chairman David Egel opened the meeting at 9:00 am. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 16, 2019 MEETING: Motion to approve by Marijo <br /> Gorney, seconded by Nora McCormack, all voted in favor. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> The Director distributed the report. <br /> She described the meetings with leaders of different activities, and described the services that the <br /> Barnstable County SHINE counselors provide and emphasized that <br /> the Senior Center only takes requests for SHINE counselor appointments. The Director also <br /> introduced the new Outreach Coordinator, Lori Nelson, who is completing her training for her <br /> new position. <br /> Motion: Marijo Gorney moved to accept the Director's report, seconded by Nora McCormack. <br /> Vote 5-0 in favor. <br /> TREASURER'S REPORT <br /> The Director submitted the latest budget report. <br /> Motion: Michael Murphy moved to approve the Treasurer's report, seconded by Marijo Gorney. <br /> Vote 5-0 in favor. <br /> OUTREACH COORDINATOR'S REPORT <br /> The Director distributed the report. <br /> Included in the Outreach activities in October were home visits and office visits. A significant <br /> number of the office and telephone calls concerned health insurance issues. <br /> Motion: Marijo Gorney moved to accept the Outreach Coordinator's report, seconded by <br /> Michael Murphy. Vote 5-0 in favor. <br /> VOLUNTEER AND PROGRAM SUPPORT COORDINATOR'S REPORT <br /> The Director distributed the report. <br /> She highlighted the following items: <br /> The addition of volunteers to support driving and other activity assistance. <br /> Started a pilot program fo a Greeter/Concierge in the Center lobby. <br />
