More time is needed to review the draft submitted by the Shellfish <br /> Constable to the Shellfish Commission. <br /> Public Access <br /> No Update from Christensen <br /> New Business <br /> Tom Smith Shellfish Aquaculture License Application: Upper Great River <br /> Thomas Smith of 226 Monomoscoy Road,Mashpee respectfully requests by an application a 2.5 acre with a <br /> total perimeter of 1,752 ft.(115,395 sq.ft.) shellfish grant located in Northern Great River,Mashpee. Please <br /> see the attached locus map,project outline and narrative description. <br /> Proposed Aquaculture Site: this is a 2.5 acre parcel in Lower Great River adjacent to Monomoscoy Island in <br /> flo+ating OysterGro cages (see attachment) in order to bring seed(approx. 9 mm)to marketable size (approx. <br /> 2%3"). The parcel measures approx. 750' x <br /> 135' by connecting lines and with coordinates at the four comers starting at the <br /> Northeastern side moving counterclockwise as shown on the attached map (-70.499934/ <br /> 41.57239; -70.499611/ 41.572035; -70.497289/ 41.572936; -70.497535/ 41.573296). <br /> The bottom of the river at the Proposed Aquaculture Site would be described as "dead muck". <br /> The mean high water line for Lower Great River is I.T. The mean low water line for <br /> Lower Great River is 0'. <br /> In order to comply with the Shellfish Aquaculture Regulations per Town of Mashpee buoy positions, the <br /> boundaries of the licensed shellfish aquaculture areas will be marked with yellow balls at least 15 inches <br /> in diameter labeled with the words "Shellfish Aquaculture" and the license number at least 2 inches tall. <br /> Marker balls at the comers of the boundary will be anchored with mushroom or pyramid anchors <br /> weighing at least 100 pounds. One of the marker balls will be marked <br /> with the DEP Number. The marker balls will be replaced by winter sticks with the same markings from <br /> December through March. <br /> Proposed Aquaculture Site will utilize approx. 120 OysterGro cages measuring (67.5" x <br /> 41") in order to bring oyster seed to marketable size.There will be (3) rows of 40 cages with 5' between <br /> cages and 10' between rows as described in the attachment.Helical screws will be placed on either end <br /> of the,(3) rows for securing each row of cages.
