Old Business: <br /> CWNMP Shellfish Propagation Plan for 2019 <br /> M.O.U. for the 300,000 oyster seed from Brewster: In progress. <br /> Mashpee M.U.S.S.E.L. volunteer program: First large event will be scheduled in April to fill cultch bags for the <br /> remote set oysters. Reaching out to the town of Falmouth and the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club. Monthly <br /> volunteer informational sessions held at the Mashpee Public Library. <br /> Gear construction: Floating upweller silos, land-based silos,bottom trays(for both oysters and quahogs),crab <br /> traps, and predator control nets. <br /> Shellfish seed on order: 5 million R1.5 Quahogs, and 2,000 remote set oyster bags. All seed will come from the <br /> Dennis Aquaculture Research Corporation. <br /> Public Access <br /> Aboriginal rights to water for fishing purposes are being questioned in regard to private property. Tribal police <br /> have stated that the tribe has the right to access water to fish through any property. The town manager has <br /> notified both the police and the tribal council that this is not where the town of Mashpee stands. No-one can <br /> access the water through private property. One possible public access point may the Jackbon Road extension <br /> that would be an access point to the Shoestring Bay area.
