Taylor <br /> Meeting Called to order by Chairman Gottlieb at 5:3 0 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> MINUTES <br /> November 1$ 2019 Re ular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the Regular Session minutes of Monday, <br /> November 18,2019 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton.' <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman' Weeden,yes opposed, none <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Scott Smith provided information to the Board regarding new technology used to address and <br /> remediate.harmful'cyanobacterla blooms and other pollutants that are contaminating bodies of <br /> water. Mr. Smith indicated the AquaFlex White Paper captures the independent field validation <br /> of AquaFlex's open-Cell foam to remediate harmful algal blooms. Field data has shown the <br /> foam technologyhas reduced toxins in a 10-hour eriod'in water by 40-60% in one validation <br /> p <br /> test, and in a second test the rnicrocystins were reduced by 50-50% over an 1 S-hour period. <br /> Mr.' Smith acknowledged research scientist Fancy Leland utilizing the University of New <br /> Hampshire's Center for Freshwater Biology for.work associated to the independent validation <br /> field-study. <br /> Ms,. Leland has been collaborating on this project with the Barnstable County Health <br /> Department and the Association to Preserve Cape Cod on her independent validation study of <br /> AquaFlex open-Cell foam technology. A sample of the foarn was offered to the Board of <br /> Selectmen for review. <br />
