Open Meeting and roll call-the Chair opened the meeting at 1:29 PM. Present: <br /> Andy Eliason,Lolita McCray,and Dan Riley <br /> 2. Minutes: <br /> a. Approve August 14,2019 Meeting Minutes.Motion: Lolita McCray moved <br /> to approve the minutes of August 14,2019 seconded by Andy Eliason. <br /> Vote unanimous 3-0. <br /> 3. Comments from OpenCape representative regarding Mashpee plans. <br /> Steve Johnston from Open Cape discussed the strategy connecting businesses and <br /> clients to get fiber deeper into the Cape.The basis for that strategy is by connecting <br /> businesses on Cape we're making sure OpenCape is strong and viable. The network <br /> really hasn't changed.We connect Boston and Providence. 300 businesses on the <br /> Cape. Continuing special initiative for public safety(Fire Stations,Police <br /> Departments,etc...) and schools and hospitals. Recently moved to Mashpee <br /> Commons in the last month. There's a huge project in Falmouth: Main Street <br /> Business Gigabyte Project. In the summer,when population explodes, businesses <br /> couldn't process credit cards with Comcast. EPIC and Chamber of Commerce <br /> asked Open Cape what to do. OpenCape is dedicated,so always have same <br /> gigabytes,doesn't vary like Comcast does. <br /> Dan Riley asked about the issue of generators. Steve Johnston said Town buildings <br /> are mostly connected. It's important that buildings are connected to power,even <br /> though they are connected,there's no internet with no power. Which buildings do <br /> you want up if network is up during a storm? Andy Eliason said during Hurricane <br /> Bob we used small battery packs. What do you need?Steve Johnston said they <br /> utilize three separate power sources and one generator. They are looking into <br />
