We will meet in Ockway meeting room except for August and October when we
will meet in Popponesset. Meanwhile,
the lakes are becoming further compromised. Barbara overheard a couple in the Town Clerk's office
asking one of the clerks, who was in charge of overseeing Santuit Pond. Cyanobacteria is still present in
the pond according to the Cape Cod Times and Mashpee Enterprise on October 15 th. On October 25"',
the green matter was noted to be spreading down the Santuit River. The same article noted that Ashumet
Pond had low levels of blue green algae and that Mashpee Lake was impaired with high levels of
phosphorus. The Lakes are not scheduled to be included until Phase 5 of the Wastewater plan.
In their new development going up on Meeting House Drive, the Wampanoag have a sewage plant built to
include the whole street,
Conclusions: The lakes continue to degrade, while possible sewer plans are being discussed.
[Agenda topic 5] Mashpee Municipal
Vulnerability Program
Discussion: Don MacDonald attended this program put on by the Woods Hole group on November 15t".
Held in the library, about 30-40 people broke into groups to look at hazards in town.
