*DRAFT* BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES 1-27-2020 9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 27, 2020 <br /> Discussion and A royal of Restated and Amended Agreement Between the Town of Mashpee and Mash ee <br /> Commons LP for the Treatment and Disposal of wastewater: <br /> The above referenced topic was deferred to the next meeting to await input from Mashpee Commons, LP on <br /> the amended and existing Agreement for the Treatment and Disposal of wastewater. <br /> Discussion and A royal of uitclaim Deed for 424 whitin s Road: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Quitclaim Deed presented to the Conservation Commission for <br /> conservation purposes. The open space directly abuts existing state owned conservation land(Quashnet River <br /> Woodlands) and is a valuable wildlife corridor.- The land is comprised of 44,157 square feet. <br /> The Conservation Commission at their.January 9, 2020 meeting voted to endorse and execute the quitclaim <br /> deed to allow for the permanent protection of open space as part of the Nitrogen Loading Aggregate Credit <br /> program. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to accept and endorse the Quitclaim heed for the Conservation <br /> Commission for the purposes of protection as part of the Nitrogen Loading Aggregate Credit program, <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,.yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman weeden,yes opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Revised Building Permit Fees: Building Inspector Charles Maintainis: <br /> Charles Maintainis-, Building Inspector was in attendance to recommend the Board consider increasing the fees <br /> for Building/Plumbing/Gas and Electrical permits. Mr. Maintainis indicated the same fees have been in place <br /> for the past,15 years. <br /> The increase is recommended to maintain the requirements to staff the building department, to be more <br /> productive and most importantly to maintain life safety. Additional monies earmarked to the Building <br /> Department will allow the department to be self-sufficient. Funds would support the purchase of smart phones, <br /> tablets, reference materials and other needed equipment. <br /> The proposed Building Fee increase was outlined in a memorandum addressed to the Town Manager and <br /> Board of Selectmen dated January 13, 2020. The objective is to remain in the median with like communities. <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated he is supportive of the new Building Department fee structure. It <br /> was disclosed the tools required of the Building Department to conduct their daily-work is adequately funded. <br /> For the record, Selectman Thomas F. O'Hara indicated he.is a licensed building contractor in the Town of <br /> Mashpee. The majority of his work is conducted in the Town of Mashpee. Selectman O'Hara indicated he is <br /> supportive of the fee increase. <br /> It was agreed the Building Fee Increase would take effect on May 1, 2020. The proposal will be duly <br /> advertised for public notice in the local paper and on the Town's website. <br />
