Peck requests a Variance under §174-33 of the
Zoning Bylaws to allow for construction of timber access stairs within the setback to the
wetlands on,property located in an R-3 Zoning District, Map 77 Parcel 38, Mashpee, MA.
Mike Borselli, with Falmouth Engineering represented the applicant for the Variance
request. The;property is located on the corner of Quinaquisset Avenue and Chestnut Street.
He provided;the Board with the site plan that depicted a significant steep embankment that
has the potential to erode, so the proposal is to install 4 ft. wide timber stairs to provide the
applicant a safer way to access the dock complex. The plan also had a profile of the stairs
and landing which will be constructed by hand. The reason for the application is that the
stairs are being built within the saltmarsh, and required a Variance from the wetlands. The
project was approved by the Conservation Commission and was issued an Order of
Conditions to install these stairs.
Chairman Furbush said that this is similar to the property next door that the Board
approved. He had no issues.
f
Mr. Bonvie wanted to confirm that the relief requested is a 50 ft. variance.
Sharon read the Conservation Comments into the record that the project was approved, and
there were no comments from the Board of Health.
There were no more comments from the Board.
