Racecourse <br /> Warm up.- To the East (right) of the racecourse. Head northeast along the eastern shore of <br /> Mashpee Pond for 1000 meters. Turn west, then south in the direction of the <br /> beach and the starting line. Watch for oncoming traffic. Steer well clear of the <br /> racing lane. <br /> The Start: Bring the nose of your boat to a stand-still in line with the yellow/orange buoy <br /> marking the starting line"100 meters north of the beach. Set your stroke coach <br /> to zero and GOI <br /> Passage-, Located '*-1800 meters northwest of the starting line. Steer to the west of the <br /> orange buoy, passing it off your starboard side. Beware the channel buoy <br /> marking the No Wake Zone. Continue north until you pass the second orange <br /> buoy, again on your starboard side. <br /> The Islands-, Once you've emerged from the passage, you"ll enter Wakeby Pond. You will <br /> 0 ffi circumnavigate the three islands and one peninsula i ffi <br /> n a clockwise rotation. <br /> Keith Island: 500 meters, northeast of the passage <br /> Jefferson Island: 600 meters northeast of Keith Island <br /> Cleveland Island: 800 meters southeast of Jefferson Is. <br /> Conaumet Point: 500 meters northwest of Cleveland Is. <br /> North passage: 700 meters southwest of Conaumet Pt <br /> The Finish: -'1800 meters from the southern end of the passage. Be sure to pass close to the <br /> southern orange buoy, again on your starboard side. Steer clear of the channel <br /> marker on your port side marking the shallow area. <br /> Notes.- All orange buoys are to be passed on your Starboard side with the exception of <br /> the one buoy to the north of Conaumet Point. <br /> ffi <br /> When being passed, please display good sportsmanship. Yield early and move to <br /> the outside. <br /> After you finish, please move away from the finish area.
