Construction will be funded through state and federal monies. The project includes extension of the multi-use path,construction of a sidewalk, reconfiguration of intersections/upgrade of traffic signals, improvement of drainage, and repaving of the road. The Town is required to file an Environmental Notification Form (ENF) with MEPA as the project met specific thresholds. • widening of an existing roadway by four or more feet for one-half or more miles. 0 Construction,widening or maintenance of a roadway or its right-of-way that will: a. alter the bank or terrain located ten more feet from the existing roadway for one-half or more miles, unless necessary to install a structure or equipment; b. cut five or more living public shade trees of 14 or more inches in diameter at breast height The removal of the shade trees requires a public meeting and approval by the Board of Selectmen. ck Irou nd Construction of the project necessitates the clearing of land and removal of trees,specifically for construction/extension of the multi-use path,construction of the sidewalk, installation of drainage improvements, and widening of the Route 151/old Barnstable Road intersection associated with the addition of dedicated left-turn lanes. The clearing/removal is necessary not only for the improvements themselves but also associated grading. For Phase 1,from Mashpee Rotary to approximately the old Barnstable Road intersection, will require 1.92 acres of clearing/grubbing and specifically removal of 47 shade trees. For Phase 2,from approximately the Cold Barnstable Road intersection to the Town line will require 2.64 acres of clearing/grubbing and specifically removal of 38 shade trees.
