Collins updated the Board with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Town of
Mashpee currently has 73 confirmed cases of the virus.
Upon completion of safety measures including the installation of plexi-glass, the Mashpee Town Hall is expected to
re-open in mid to late August by appointment only. Operational meetings for the opening of the schools are
ongoing with the School Department.
Discussion followed with regards to large gatherings and other potential violations of such during this time.I i ime.
It was agreed that expectations have been made clear, and complaints would be duly investigated. It is extremely
important the business community and the residents of the Town of Mashpee be respectful of the perimeters
regarding COVID-19 to protect all parties from harm.
Discussion and Ati,govat,,pf Chan, of Scope of Route 151 Corridor IMproyqment ect. Catherine Laurent:
At the last Selectmen's meeting the '"oard discussed the possibility of adding wastewater design and pip ing to the
scope of the Route 151 Corridor Improvement project. The initiative would save funds to the taxpayer, *dent*-fy
possible grant funds for severing and avoid future disruption to the road areas.
Catherine-Laurent, Director of Public Works met with the Town's consulting engineers and the Sewer
Commission to discuss the project proposal. It was agreed the initiative was doable, and would take additional
time to further design the specifies into the outline of the road construction project.
Representatives from MassDOT were also consulted as the 'improvement project is fully funded through
Transportation Improvernent Plan (TIP) funding. Construction is slated to begin in the fall of 2021for the $21
million project with$11 million estimated to begin Phase I.
To allow for the time required to seek funding for the sewer portion of the Route 151 Corridor Improvement
project, the phasing of this project has been reconfigured. This would allow-the project to-move forward with state
and federal funding, and offer time to the Town of Mashpee to obtain Town Meeting authorization in October for
the sewer design planned from the Old Barnstable Road intersection to the Mashpee Town Line.
