r .. <br /> Private Wastewater Treatment Plant Tours <br /> Commission members discussed the possibility of viewing Windchime Point(amphodrome) and Mashpee <br /> Commons(RBC)on Thursday, June 10 at 4:30 pm. Among the other treatment plants: New Seabury is <br /> on hold, Stratford Ponds is awaiting more information, Southport will not allow a tour, South Cape <br /> Village is a similar system to Windchime and Willowbend is willing but not yet scheduled. Mr. Malarkey <br /> questioned the town's ability to take over an unwilling plant to which the Chair responded that Mashpee <br /> plans a cooperative process but that eminent domain is also a possibility. Commission members also <br /> discussed the benefits of Mashpee having a combined water/sewer district and the benefits to the water <br /> district to remain as a separate district. <br /> Subsurface Archeological Investigations <br /> The contract has been signed by both parties and the work will commence. <br /> Community Advisory Committee <br /> Open positions on the Committee include three precincts and a representative from the Tribal Council. <br /> There has been interest expressed from qualified residents in Precincts 2 and 4. Mr. Malarkey questioned <br /> the candidate for Precinct 5 who was not selected for the position. Chairman Fudala will forward a memo <br /> to the Board of Selectmen asking them to fill the three positions with the interested individuals. Mr. <br /> Klenert questioned the demographics of each of the precincts. The Chair responded that there were <br /> pockets of dense development throughout the town and districts consist of residential and commercial <br /> properties. The Needs Assessment Report from GHD would provide additional information. <br /> Other Business <br /> Mr. Lyons questioned the availability of a flow chart for active projects. Mr. Lyons volunteered to work <br /> with Jeff Gregg of GHD to create a timeline that could also be utilized for public information. <br /> Mr. Malarkey addressed Beverly Kane's concerns from the last meeting regarding the importance of <br /> communicating with the public. It was suggested that the Commission meet with Ms. Kane to draft a <br /> document that could be shared with the public. It was also suggested that County level wastewater <br /> activity be discussed at the next meeting on June 15"_ Chairman Fudala noted that, as part of the GHD <br /> contract, Regina Villa has been subcontracted as the public information contact. Mr. Klenert suggested <br /> that Regina Villa speak with the Commission. The Chair suggested that Mr. Malarkey work with Ms. <br /> Kane, Mr. Gregg and Regina Villa to develop a public information program. <br /> The Chair asked Mr. Kaplan to request from the Board of Health the 200-300 locations with de-nitrifying <br /> systems by map and parcel. Torn Mayo would then be able to map the information. <br /> It.was requested that extra meetings be limited due to a limited Human Resources budget. <br /> MEETING ADJOURNMENT <br /> A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. O'Hara.
