Taylor <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Cotton at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mondaygust 10, 2020 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the minutes of Monday, August 10,2020 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: <br /> As a result of a recent incident held at Mashpee High, School Committee Chair George Schmidt expressed <br /> displeasure at the events which happened this past weekend. Mr. Schmidt indicated that it is unacceptable the <br /> Schools were not made aware of this occurrence only find out what had happened in the newspaper. On <br /> September 25, 2020 sports activities will be allowed, and the high school field needs to be ready. Mr. Schmidt <br /> requested the Selectmen's support to have the fields ready for sport activities. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Special Event: Head of the Ponds Regatta,• Attaquin Park Mashpee-Wakeby Pond,• <br /> Sunday September 13, 2020: Alan Robinson: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with Alan Robinson to review plans for the 2020 Head of the Ponds Regatta. <br /> The regatta is a long distance race of 7,500 meters for singles and doubles with co-habiting partners on one of <br /> the most beautiful rowing venues in New England; Mashpee-Wakeby Pond. The Special Events Application <br /> states the race is scheduled to be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Attaquin <br /> Park. Social distancing will be maintained at all times until participants are sitting in their shell and upon <br /> disembarkation. <br /> All applicable regulatory officials have signed off on the application. It is anticipated there would be 25 boats <br /> with one or two persons rowing. The race is planned by invitation only. All participants will be 21 years or <br /> older. If the race is a success, it is hopeful it would be planned for subsequent years. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the Special Event Application for the 2020 Head of the <br /> Ponds Regatta on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Attaquin Park as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br />
