3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 10, 2020 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Hearing: Proposed Parking Ban: Back Road, Cranberry Avenue, Highview Avenue, Hilltop Road, <br /> Hoophole Road, and Valley Road: (continued) <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins advised the Board to consider instituting the parking ban on a seasonal basis as <br /> there are generally no problems during the off season. <br /> Selectman Weeden present. <br /> Being no further comment, the Board of Selectmen took the following action; <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to institute a parking ban on Back Road, Cranberry Avenue, <br /> Highview Avenue, Hilltop Road, Hoophole Road and Valley Road from May 15rr' to October lsr <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0-1. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden, abstained Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Special Event Application: American Lung Association 36r" Annual Autumn Escape <br /> Bike Trek to pass through the Town of Mashpee on Saturday, September 26, 2020: <br /> A Special Event Application was before the Board for the American Lung Association's 36r" Annual Autumn <br /> Escape Bike Trek scheduled to pass through the Town of Mashpee on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Due to the <br /> pandemic and travel distance to attend the Selectmen's Meeting the Board waived the attendance requirement. <br /> The annual trek is a three day event to raise funds to further the American Lung Association's mission to save <br /> lives. It is expected that 350 bicyclists will take part in this event. The race is scheduled to pass through <br /> Mashpee from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 26, 2020. All applicable Department Heads have signed off <br /> on the application with stipulations imposed by the Mashpee Police Department for cyclists to obey traffic laws <br /> and to make every effort to avoid impeding motor vehicle traffic. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Event Application of the American Lung <br /> Association to pass through the Town of Mashpee on Saturday, September 26, 2020 as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br />
