12 <br /> Temporary Beach Parking and Access Restrictions(Per Order of the Board of Selectmen dated July 27, 2020) <br /> A. In accordance with applicable provisions of the Town of Nlashpee Charter, Bylaws, G.L. c: 90, §20A, and <br /> any other enabling audwrhy, the Board of Selectmen, in consideration of the COVID 1.9 State of <br /> t.naergency declared by the Governor On March 10, 2020 and the related Advisories and Guidances issued <br /> by State authorities, hereby adopts the within tenal.mrary beach parking and acr.ess restrictions. Said <br /> restrictions are deemed necessary due to recently observed overcrowding and congestion at John's Pond <br /> and other Town beaches (collectively, the "Town Beaches") in order to regulate, on a temporary basis, the <br /> size of gatherings at saic] Town Beaches for the purposes of preserving and maintaining the public health, <br /> safety and welfare and effectively regulating vehicular parking on roads in and around said Town Beaches <br /> during the COWD09 panclernic. <br /> Accordingly, it is hereby ordered: <br /> 1) Any other order, rule or regulation concerning parking adopted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> notwithstanding, no operator of any vehicle shall park or stared the same on any portion of any <br /> street or road leading to Johns Pond, specifically:, Back Road, Cranberry Avenue, Highview Averue <br /> Hilltop Road, Hoophole Road and Valley Road and as designated by the signs containing the words <br /> "NO PARKING', which signs shall be placed on such roads or portions thereof pursuant to and for <br /> the duration of this temporary restriction. The Chief of Police and or his designees, are authorized <br /> and directed to place and erect temporarily, or cause to be so placed an(] erected, such signs on <br /> any st_rch portion of any road subject to this temporary restriction. <br /> 2) Access to Town Beaches shall be restricted to M,aslipee residents, members of the Mashpee <br /> Wanapanoag Tripe, and those with vehick- disability phWs or- placards and/or current Town Beach <br /> permits during the term of this temporary restriction. This beach access restriction is intended to <br /> advance the interests of the afore-mentioned Advisories and Guidances by preventing large <br /> gatherings at and overcrowding of the Town Beaches duhng the COVID 19 State of Emergency, All <br /> persons authorized to access said Beaches during this ternporary restriction will be expected to <br /> comply with all recommended COVID.19 safety measures, inc]uclOg appropriate social-distancing and <br /> wearing of face masks when social distancing is not possible, while on the Town Beaches. <br /> These temporary restrictions shall commence on .July 28, 20XY and shall remain in effect until rescinded by <br /> the Board of Selectmen or until the State of Emergency declared by the Governor is terminated, whichever <br /> occurs first. <br /> The Chief of Police and/or his designees are authorzed to enforce these temporary restrictions by the <br /> issrr MCP of citations and/or removal of non-compliant vehicles or persons in accorclawe with applicable <br /> laws and regulations. <br /> So Ordered. <br />
