9
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
July 27, 2020
Discussion and Approval of Change of Scope of Route 151 Corridor Improvement Project: Catherine Laurent:
(continued)
Phase I would allow for the project to move forward from the Mashpee Rotary to the Old Barnstable Road
intersection. Phase II would encompass improvements including wastewater from the Old Barnstable Road
intersection to the Mashpee Town Line.
It was agreed the solution was worth the effort as the budget estimate for the Route 151 Corridor Improvement
project is currently estimated to cost$32.5 million. This created an $11.2 million shortage. The project limits
initially proposed improvements from the Mashpee Rotary to the Mashpee Town Line. To achieve meaningful
reductions in costs the project limits proposed for deferral included the limit from the Mashpee Rotary to the Frank
Hick's Drive/Jobs Fishing Road intersection due to budgetary constraints.
Under the change of scope, the Town is now able to proceed with the project from the Mashpee Rotary to Old
Barnstable Road fully funded through the Transportation Improvement Plan. The project should go to bid in 2021
with construction to commence in the fall of 2021.
Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to authorize the Town of Mashpee through its Town Manager and
DPW Director to proceed with the Route 151 Corridor Improvement Project included in the
Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) from the Mashpee Rotary to the Old Barnstable Road intersection
with construction to be fully funded through state and federal monies.
Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Roll Call Vote:
Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes
Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none
Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to include an Article with language to be prepared for the
Sewer Design associated to the Route 151 Corridor Improvement Project; Phase II.
Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Roll Call Vote:
Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes
Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion and Approval of Fiscal Year 2021 Dispatch Contract: Fire Chief Thomas Rullo:
Correspondence was received from Deputy Fire Chief John F.
