DO NOT CLICK on links or attachments unless you are absolutely certain the content is safe.
Hello,
This note is in response to the recent issues concerning lack of parking in the Seconsett
Island/Waquoit Bay area. I can appreciate the town concerns with the increased traffic in recent years
related to the number of rental properties, shellfish fisherman, kayakers and charter business
customers parking on the causeway. Also, the number of moorings has doubled in recent years.
That being said, I have been a boat owner in good standing for over 25 years in Mashpee and pay an
annual fee of$400 plus boat excise tax. We have family in Mashpee and have enjoyed the waterways.
Amy and I are planning to retire to the area.
We are hoping that the town can consider making provisions for Massachusetts non-resident parking.
Simple changes could be made to increase the number of parking spots available, reduce the number
of moorings or implement a parking permit system. I believe there can be balance where all can enjoy
the area.
Thank you for your consideration of our request. Hopefully, this not my last season in Waquoit bay.
Sincerely,
Jay Heihsel
Sent from Mail for Windows 10
1 of 1 4/29/2020, 1:55 PM
