Bio ra hical Sketch <br /> Mr. Colombo is currently retired and enjoys his time with his.grandchildren's sporting <br /> p g <br /> activities, outdoor photography, gardening, and a multitude of other outside interests. He <br /> dedicates a portion of his time to his membership and duties as a Conservation <br /> Commissioner for the City of Leominster. Recently he and his wife Michaela, have <br /> moved to Mashpee, Massachusetts where they enjoy living in close proximity to the <br /> ocean environment. <br /> He formerly taught Environmental and Physical Science curricula at Clinton High <br /> School. He was also the program manager for EduTel Communications Inc. a federally <br /> recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization that assisted teachers in their <br /> efforts to incorporate existing and emerging technologies into interdisciplinary curricula. <br /> He directed academic technology and managed web development for Simmons College <br /> in Boston. His responsibilities included developing and overseeing the college web site, <br /> coordinating communication between the web office and all departments in both the <br /> undergraduate and graduate colleges along with providing Internet based professional <br /> development for faculty and staff. <br /> Mr. Colombo also directed the EnviroNet network for teacher enhancement and <br /> professional development that was established under a National Science Foundation <br /> .award. He has academic and professional experience in environmental sciences as well <br /> as an outstanding technology background for networked science. <br /> He has taught environmental sciences in grades seven through twelve for twenty-six <br /> years during which he closely integrated Conservation Commission work with his <br /> curricula. He also served as a consultant for a NSFINIE grant initiative, "WhaleNet" with <br /> Wheelock College in Boston. He has given numerous technology workshops at local, <br /> regional, and national conferences for science education. <br />
