Non Resident P'ar n Pert for Seconsett
sla oad:
The Remote Public Hearing was duly opened by the Board of Selectmen and the Public Hearing notice was
read into the record to conform to posting requirements on a proposed Non-Resident Parking Permit for
Seconsett Island Road along the causeway directly across from the beach area.
Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated the proposal consists of the offering of a non-resident parking
permit to the Mashpee mooring holders and Town of Falmouth shellfish permit holders. This license app lies
to the Seconsett Island location and does not apply to other landings beaches and those areas related by-
.shellfish permits. For a person to qualify, thenon-resident must be a mooring holder in the gu Town of
Mashpee and/or have a Town of Falmouth shellfish permit. With the qualifications, persons would be
eligible to purchase a non-resident parking permit, a sticker at a cost of$100 per year. One permit would be
issued per mooring and per shellfish permit at this location.
At the last meeting, the Board of Selectmen requested the stickers for this location be sufficiently different
from those offered by the Town of Mashpee. It was disclosed the Town Clerk has ordered new s.tickers
identifiable for this purpose to alleviate misconception. The permitted sticker would qualify for use 'within
the Seconsett Island/Waquoit Bay location only. Approximately six commercial shellfish holders from the
Town of Falmouth generally use this area. It is estimated there are ten or more non-resident mooring holders
at the Seconsett Island site. Signage regarding parking for permit holders will be in p lace for the summer
season.
