Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> October 6,2020 at 6:30 pm <br /> Mashpee Town Hall-Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Approved 11/19/2020 <br /> Public Participation by Remote <br /> *Public Call in Number: (508) 539-1449* <br /> Present: Allan Isbitz,Melinda Baker,Noelle Pina, Bruce Willard(not called in) <br /> Also Present: Town Planner Evan Lehrer <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Isbitz called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the roll was called with the Chair, <br /> Ms. Baker and Ms. Pina present. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES September 15, 2020 <br /> The Chair inquired whether members had reviewed the minutes and called for a motion. <br /> MOTION: Ms. Baker made a motion to adopt the minutes. Ms. Pina seconded the motion. <br /> All voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Habitat for Humanity, Community Kick-Off Event for Mendes Way <br /> Beth Wade, Habitat for Humanity, was remotely present to provide an update. Regarding the <br /> Mendes Way Kickoff, the Chair confirmed that John Cotton would be speaking on behalf of the <br /> Town, in addition to the Chair. The Chair would forward the contact information to Ms. Wade. <br /> Ms. Wade announced that the Mendes Way virtual kick-off event would take place Tuesday, <br /> October 13 at 4pm. Ms. Wade expected the event to be brief, but noted it was an opportunity to <br /> meet the two families now working on the homes. Ms. Wade forwarded the link and invitation <br /> to the Chair and would also forward the details to Committee members. <br /> Affordable Housing Production Plan (AHPP) <br /> The Chair confirmed that he had been in contact with Mr. Lehrer regarding the schedule for <br /> updating the Housing Production Plan. The Chair noted the challenge of completing the update <br /> in time for the November deadline, but there was agreement to complete the project as soon as <br /> possible to have it submitted for certification. Mr. Lehrer, attending remotely, stated that the <br /> timeline would be determined by identifying which sections of the plan would be addressed and <br /> who would be completing the work. Depending upon the scope of work, Mr. Lehrer suggested <br /> that it was likely the updates could be completed by early 2021, over a period of 2-3 months. <br /> The Chair suggested a deadline of mid-January. The Chair indicated that he and Mr. Lehrer <br /> would work on the update and then present it to the Committee for feedback and approval. <br /> The Chair reported that he and Mr. Lehrer had highlighted concerns, such as the first goal to <br /> provide a balance of affordable rental and ownership units. Although the Town should continue <br /> to support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity,the increasing need for affordable multi-family <br />
