Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Date: 10/13/20 <br /> Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:02am in the Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Attendees: Ken Bates, Don MacDonald, Tim Leedham, Al Wickel (telephone bridge) Dick <br /> Noonan. Also present: Ashley Fisher, Jeff Smith, Donovan McElligat <br /> Absent: Steve Mone, Gregg Fraser <br /> Minutes: <br /> The following minutes were approved: The regular session of Tuesday September 8, 2020. <br /> Motion to approve made by Dick Noonan, seconded by Don MacDonald and unanimously <br /> approved by all those present in the room or via conference call. <br /> Appointments & Information Sessions: <br /> Ken explained that the Town of Mashpee needed to get a plan developed for handling the <br /> storage and disposal of dredged materials. Don MacDonal made a motion to appoint Ken <br /> Bates to establish a Committee to study and prepare a plan for the storage and disposal of <br /> dredged materials and to present the proposal to the BOS for approval. The motion was <br /> seconded by Dick Noonan and unanimously approved by all present. <br /> Communications &Correspondence: <br /> The MWC mailbox was not checked prior to the meeting so nothing to report at this time. <br /> Ashley Fisher did report that she had received a letter of concern from a resident living on <br /> Ashumet Pond relative to DNR Article 12 of the Town Warrant. Ashley will prepare a response <br /> for the BOS. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Harbormaster Report: <br /> The Office has just finished a massive clean up of the Harbormaster facility. They are also <br /> cleaning up boats and doing extensive checks on the condition of the boats in light of the <br /> heavy use they had this season. The focus is on signs of distress or damage. In this regard the <br /> work boat will get special attention. At this point in the process the boats look ok. Boat <br /> winterization and maintenance will begin shortly with special attention to all maintenance <br /> procedures in recognition of the hours put on all engines this season. The goal is to not have to <br /> replace any engines for next season. Jeff also reported that all seasonal markers have been <br /> removed from salt and freshwater bodies. Additionally, winter sticks have been placed for every <br /> red and green buoy. And lastly, the pump out boat will be shut down after this weekend and <br /> stored at Little River. Patrols will be limited going forward and based on weather. <br /> All fishing tournament requests are in for next year. As always, they come in immediately after <br /> the application period begins in October. Jeff reported that all Ashumet Pond requests were <br />
