9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 5, 2020 <br /> RECONVENE OPEN SESSION - 7:17 p.m. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Annual No Plow List: The annual No Plow List of private roads will be issued next week and published in <br /> the Mashpee Enterprise and on the Town's website; www.maslipeema.gov. <br /> Housing Assistance Program:•am: Correspondence was received from Leila Botsford, Executive Director of the <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority dated September 22, 2020 indicating the Mashpee Housing Authority Board <br /> has unanimously voted to end the administration of the Housing Assistance Program. <br /> The Mashpee Housing Authority in their letter indicated the program is extremely time consuming and that <br /> it is a financial loss to the housing authority costing over$600 per month in administrative fees. All <br /> participants would be advised of the program-end as of November 30, 2020. There is approximately 18 <br /> months of funding remaining in the program. Any remaining funds would be returned to the Community <br /> Preservation Committee. <br /> The Board in concern with regards to the abrupt cancellation of the program agreed to further discuss this <br /> matter at the next Select Board meeting. <br /> November 3 2020 Election: Absentee Ballots are expected to be mailed soon. It was agreed the drop-off <br /> box for Election Ballots would be publicized and identified as a secure location for completed ballots to be <br /> tallied appropriately. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Update, Discussion and Possible Action Relative to COVID-19: <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins updated the Select Board on the following actions relative to COVID-19; <br /> After the Election on November 3, 2020, the Offices of the Town Clerk, Assessor and Treasurer/Tax <br /> Collector will open to the public. The wearing of facial coverings will be mandated. There shall be signage <br /> indicating there is no entrance with the absence of a mask and there is no tolerance for abusive language. <br /> To adhere to social distancing requirements, sections of Town Hall will be delineated to access these offices. <br /> All other Town Offices will be un-accessible to the public at this time. <br /> Kathleen Mahoney the Library Director is working on a multi-faceted plan to include protocols, circulation <br /> and other services as well as cleaning and disinfecting procedures. With the protocols in place the Library <br /> will be open to the public at the end of October with reduced hours. Thereafter, it is expected that expanded <br /> public services will incrementally broaden. <br /> Town playgrounds will be reopened and posted; Masks are Required, Use at Your Own Risk. The DPW <br /> Director will be consulted with regards to the periodic disinfecting of playground equipment and the <br /> possibility of providing hand sanitizes at the playground locations. <br /> The VFW Post Commander has announced there are no Veterans Day ceremonies planned for this year. <br />
