Minutes of Meeting
Mashpee Plan Review Committee
Tuesday, November 17, 2020
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
The applicant said that the system is existing. Glen said he will look at the plan again.
There has not been any proposed tight tanks yet. They need to talk with a utility
company to understand what was required before to dispose of the water.
Tom Bunker said when he spoke with the Architect, there is a growing medium that
would need a tight tank. The plan depicted the proposed tight tank, but can be
discussed with Glen and the Architect for further details. Glen mentioned that both
ACME and Wiggin have pre-set cad details for that non-hazardous tank.
Glen mentioned that this is project is a change of use. There will have to be a septic
inspection, and also a change of footprint would require a septic inspection. He asked
Tom to put the proposed design data with the number of employees that matches into
the 443 gallons a day of the existing septic system to show that the use will match
and fit within the existing system.Tom said that the system can accommodate almost
30 employees. Glen prefers to see it on the plan to match what is existing.
Glen wanted to know the process of the RO tanks. The applicant said there has not
been a water test yet. There will be some storage tanks in place for clean water. The
plans are very conceptual at this point. One tank would be for filtration water going
into the plant, and will try to reclaim as much water as possible onsite to minimize
the operating costs. Clean Harbors would have to come in. The applicant will explain
the details at another time once there's a water test in place.
Glen asked about odor mitigation which will be the biggest issue when getting the
Board of Health permit for the cultivation. The applicant said that the facility is a
three part system. Containment - All the walls are constructed as Insulated Metal
Panels (IMP). The odor should be contained to inside the facility itself. If the odor is
not,the first step would be elimination. There would be a combination of ozone and
carbon filters, UV light, and chlorine dioxide. Filtration would filter all the air to
carbon filters and the blue zone units, and any other lack particulate would be passed
through an ERV,and sent through a high altitude fan which will break down naturally
in the atmosphere and become inert. He will share an odor mitigation plan with the
Town, and will include Fire and Police as well.
Glen had no more comments or questions.
Rodney Collins
Rodney referred to Glen's comments regarding odor and noise mitigation that needs to be
addressed.Rodney had no more comments.
3
