s"
34
Report of Public Welfare
To the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee:
"t The following is a report of the Welfare Department.
There has been an average of 12 cases receiving
general relief monthly. Compared to about 22 cases a
N year ago.
Unemployment Compensation and increased em-
ployment at Camp Edwards ds ha
ve helped to reduce these
cases.
It is the opinion of this Department that every head
of a family should secure work that is covered by Un-
employment benefits.
At present there are 6 cases receiving De-
pendent
to D -
pendent Children. These cases include the full budget-
ary needs of 15 children and their dependent relative
or parent. An increase in the number of these cases
is anticipated.
I Ten persons now receive Old Age Assistance. As-
sistance is given to each individual according to his
needs, and in compliance with figures set up by the
Mass. Dept. of Public Welfare.
Respectfully submitted,
DELSCENA HENDRICKS
Social Worker
r
