s" <br /> 34 <br /> Report of Public Welfare <br /> To the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br /> "t The following is a report of the Welfare Department. <br /> There has been an average of 12 cases receiving <br /> general relief monthly. Compared to about 22 cases a <br /> N year ago. <br /> Unemployment Compensation and increased em- <br /> ployment at Camp Edwards ds ha <br /> ve helped to reduce these <br /> cases. <br /> It is the opinion of this Department that every head <br /> of a family should secure work that is covered by Un- <br /> employment benefits. <br /> At present there are 6 cases receiving De- <br /> pendent <br /> to D - <br /> pendent Children. These cases include the full budget- <br /> ary needs of 15 children and their dependent relative <br /> or parent. An increase in the number of these cases <br /> is anticipated. <br /> I� Ten persons now receive Old Age Assistance. As- <br /> sistance is given to each individual according to his <br /> needs, and in compliance with figures set up by the <br /> Mass.
