McCormack, Jr. , , `1 360 <br /> �9p <br /> Attorney General ALJ <br /> State House, Boston 33 , Mass. 41 - <br /> Dear Sir:- <br /> Article 32 of our Annual Town Meeting held on March 7, 1960 .,was <br /> voted upon as follows: <br /> Article 32 with amendments made to it : <br /> Chapter 1 � <br /> TOWN MEETINGS AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> Article I. TO+1N MEETINGS „ <br /> . Section 1. The annual Town meeting for the appropriation of mosey <br /> and all other matters which shall properly come before it shall be held <br /> on the first Monday in March at 7:00 0-M. in each year, at such place <br /> as the selectmen may determine. The election of -officers shall be held <br /> on the succeeding;,fitdednesday. . The Selectmen shall insert in the warrant <br /> forthe annual me6tings all articles,, petitions for which, signed by <br /> ten or more legal voters , shall be delivered to the selectmen, or either a <br /> of them, or the Town Clerk, on or before the twentieth day of January <br /> in each year, but the selectmen may insert in said warrant any articla <br /> .or articles received by them after said twentieth day of January, if in <br /> their judgment it is advisable so to do , and whenever it is possible , <br /> shall., before calling a special town meeting, insert in some newspaper <br /> published in town a notice specifying the last day upon which articles <br /> to be inserted in the warrant for such meetings shall be presented to <br /> the selectmen or Town Clerk. The warrant for the annual meeting shall <br /> also designate the -down officers who are to be chosen by ballot , and <br /> their respective terms of office. <br /> Section 2. The Selectmen shall cause to be published in the local <br /> newspaper at least seven days before any annual or special Town Meetings <br /> the recommendations and estioates of all committees (except the finance <br /> committee) relating to the expenditure of money upon which action is to be <br /> taken, in addition to the articles included in the warrant. <br /> Section 3. CONDUCT OF TOWN MEETINGS: <br /> (a) The articles shall be considered in the order in which they <br /> appear in the warrant. Articles referred from previous town meetings <br /> shall take an early place in the warrant. Other articles shall be grouped <br /> together in accordance with the requests of the respective towndepartments <br /> or committees under whose direction the action called for in such articles <br /> is proposed to be executed. <br /> (b) All articles requiring more than a majority vote for favorable <br /> action, shall be placed in the warrant next following the articles re <br /> ferred from previous town meetings. <br /> (c) The main body of the house shall be reserved for register <br /> voters; all others are to be seated in another section. <br /> (d) If any one voter rises in his place and questions an oral,; yea <br /> and nays' vote, without further discussion a hand vote shall be take.` <br /> pYSR f"+ <br /> 0. <br /> ,1 S <br /> f.e• 4 .{ <br />
