There being no further comments or discussion, Veronica Warden moved to approve the 2021
Fee Schedule as presented. Motion seconded by Ernest Virgilio. Roll call vote: Ernest Virgilio
(yes);Veronica Warden (yes); Brian Baumgaertel(yes). VOTE: Unanimous (3-0).
6. Review and approval of FY 2022 BOH Budget submission. Mr. Harrington commented that there
were no increases in expenses and salaries were adjusted per the PAP and union contracts. Ms.
Warden asked if the budget for office supplies was adequate and Mr. Harrington answered In the
affirmative.
Chair Baumgaertel asked if the Health Agents anticipated needing any additional funding for
COVID vaccinations once they become available. Mr. Harrington stated that it would be difficult
to request funds without having specific details. Chair Baumgaertel felt we should have a pool of
funds available, so we are not relying completely on the state, and not left short-handed. Based
on the level of public concern, there will be a high demand for the vaccine. Ms.Warden agreed
stating that, more than likely, the state would provide adequate assistance, but it is better to be
safe than sorry. Mr. Virgilio was also in agreement, stating that he preferred to be prepared and
to have the necessary funds in place. All Board members agreed that the timing can be a challenge
when going to the finance committee to request funds and, based on the urgency of the need, it
would be prudent to submit a request to the Town Manager for$20K. With the full support of
the Board, Mr. Harrington stated that he would present it to the Town Manager.
There being no further comments or discussion, Ernest Virgilio moved to continue discussion of
the FY 2022 Budget until the next meeting. Motion seconded by Veronica Warden. Roll call vote:
Ernest Virgilio (yes);Veronica Warden(yes); Brian Baumgaertel (yes). VOTE: Unanimous(3-0).
7. Discussion of upcoming Mashpee Flu Clinics. Mr. Harrington commented that the flu clinics have
been scheduled for Tuesday, October 271h from 3-6 pm and Tuesday, November 10'from 9-12
noon. The clinics will be performed using a drive-through format. 150 doses will be available for
each clinic. The amount of high-dose vaccine is still unknown, but the Pharmacy Division is hoping
to have 30 doses per clinic. A 10 x 20'tent Is proposed to be set up in the driveway by the chapel
so that the nurses have cover from inclement weather. A bathroom inside the church will be
made available for staff and volunteers. There are currently, two volunteers.
The Clinic Ace scheduling software that Brian produced has been used for the registration process.
Instructions for receiving the vaccine and the flu clinic drive-through process are provided on the
registration website. The October clinic is currently 90% scheduled, and the November clinic is
13% scheduled. There has been one newspaper advertisement In the October 211 Mashpee
Enterprise and there will be two more before the November clinic.
Funding has been offered by HMCC in the amount of$1,939, A work plan and spreadsheet were
submitted per the funding instructions in advance of the deadline, but funding has not yet been
approved. Mr. Harrington spoke with a few key department heads to go over the logistics of the
clinic. The Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Police Chief, DPW Director, COA Director
and Building Inspector have all reviewed the plan for the clinic. Health Agents will meet a second
time with the facilities manager at the church to confirm the setup of the tent and the overall
operations prior to the clinic date.
Chair Baumgaertel stated that he is encouraged that people are understanding the importance of
getting the flu vaccine.
