i
,I
12
1 1
i
Report of the Board of Health
1
j ]
1
To the residents of the Town of Mashpee: 1
i
t
j As in previous years, the problem of relocating the Town
Dump, has not •been resolved as yet. The locations which are
referred to in the "Town Dump Committee" report, were
viewed by the Board of Health, and ownership of the most k
favorable location was determined by the Assessors. The own- 1
er of the most desireable location will be contacted with the 1
j'', hope of making a purchase at reasonable cost.
' ;,, A Dump Custodian was appointed during 1958, on•a part-
time basis. There was a decided improvement in the dumping r
' area, although there is still much to be desired. This satisfac-
tion will only be gained by a new location which has been c
properly prepared by use; regulations put into effect and en- 1
forced, governing the days and hours that residents may
Y dump, and a custodian on duty, during the hours of use. With
the limited supervised dumping that was provided during the
tourist season :of 1958, much of the unauthorized dumping
was curbed and the necessity of bulldozing the area was re-
duced to a minimum. There was a large expenditure on bull-
j
dozing between January and July, which was the period prior
5 to appointing a custodian.
The importance of the School Dental Clinic program in
our community cannot, be stressed enough, and it is pleasing
f I.h
to know that so many elementary school children have had
the opportunity to receive this care. However, because there
must be a limitation placed on the program, as in most things,
1 it has been necessary to set forth certain •provisions in order
that eligibility may be determined. Please refer to the "Stand-
ing Orders—Mashpee Dental Clinic", which appears on the
S
I
I'
1} n•
