,j <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS ON <br /> WARRANT ARTICLES. <br /> SPECIAL TOV6'NMEETING ARTICLES <br /> 4/5/10 <br /> The Town Meeting on May 3rd is divided into two separate parts each having its own set of Warrant <br /> Articles. <br /> The first part is called the SPECIAI;TOWN MEETING and addresses town business in the current <br /> Fiscal Year(2010),which ends on June 30, 2010. <br /> Note: All votes by the Finance Committee recommending approval or defeat of Articles in the I' <br /> Special or Annual Town Meeting Warrant are unanimous (7-0) unless otherwise noted. <br /> ARTICLE 1 Authorize the Transfer of Funds--Firefighters Collective Bargaimn A Bement <br /> Submitted by: Board of Selectmen. <br /> Approval is requested to appropriate $129,910 in available Ambulance Receipts to fund a 3 year <br /> collective bargaining agreement with the International Firefighters Association representing the Mashpee <br /> Fire Department employees commencing on 7/1/07 and ending on 6/30/10. The 3 year agreement calls <br /> for annual pay increases of 1% effective 6/30/08 (with no retro-activity), 2%effective 7/1/08 (correct <br /> date), 1%effective 1/1/09,2% effective 7/1/09,and 1% effective 1/1/10. The total compounded increase <br /> included in this agreement is 7.19% over the 3 year life of the agreement. This contract ends on June 30, j <br /> 2010. <br /> Approval of Article 1 will neither have an impact on the FY 11 budget, nor will it affect the final <br /> 2010 municipal tax rate. Note: Assuming approval of this Article, the increases for the 3 years of the ,;,';{` <br /> agreement have been included in the revised Fire Department budget for FY'10. <br /> THE FINANCE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS TOWN MEETING APPROVAL OF ARTICLE M <br /> 1. This contract ends on June 30,2010. „ <br /> Approval of Article 2 will neither have an impact on the FY 11 budget, nor will it affect the final a <br /> 2010 municipal tax rate.
