Also amend Article III as follows: <br /> Change the title of Article III from "Off-Street Parking"to "Parking Facilities"; <br /> In Section 174-35 replace the phrase "the off-street parking space requirements" with the phrase <br /> "parking facilities"; <br /> Replace the current wording of Section 174-37 with the following: <br /> "§174-37. Location of facilities. Required parking facilities shall be provided on the same lot <br /> or parcel as the principal use they are designed to serve, unless otherwise permitted by a Special <br /> Permit issued by the Planning Board. Parking facilities shall be located to the side or rear of the <br /> principal structure(s) on a lot or parcel, unless the permitting authority determines that an <br /> alternative location will improve the project aesthetically, substantially reduce impacts on natural <br /> or historic resources or improve public safety." <br /> Change the title of Section 174-38 from "Size and dimension of spaces" to "Parking facility <br /> dimensions" and replace the current wording with the following: <br /> 44§174-38. Parking facility dimensions. Each required parking stall for restaurants, banks, <br /> pharmacies or similar establishments with drive-through windows, supermarkets, convenience <br /> markets, hardware stores, discount department stores, home improvement centers, medical or <br /> dental offices and other establishments involving high parking turnover, or the use of shopping <br /> carts, shall be nine and one-half(91/2) feet in width. Any other required parking stalls may be <br /> nine (9) feet in width, if approved by the permitting authority, where it is demonstrated that the <br /> use served will not involve high parking turnover, the use of shopping carts, or frequent use by <br /> large vehicles such as pickup trucks, vans or commercial vehicles, except that on-street parallel <br /> parking spaces may be eight (8) feet in width when adjacent to travel lanes of at least 10 feet in <br /> width. <br /> Except when part of a parking module sized as indicated below, each required parking stall shall <br /> be not less than twenty (20) feet in length, exclusive of aisles, drives and maneuvering space. <br /> Otherwise, minimum parking lot aisle width, and one bay and two-bay parking module widths <br /> (from curb to curb or edge of pavement to edge of pavement) shall, be as follows: <br /> Parking Angle Aisle Width* I Bay Module Width 2 Bay Module Width <br /> 90 degree 24' 43 14" 621 <br /> 75 degree 20,E 3919" 5916" <br /> 70 degree 18'4" 3 8121� 58' <br /> 65 degree 17' 3619" 5616" <br /> 60 degree 16' 3 516" 55' <br /> 55 degree 14XI 3 3'10" 53' <br /> 50 degree 13'8" 3214" 51' <br /> 45 degree 13' 311 491 <br /> *Aisles for 90 degree parking may be permitted for two-way traffic.
