The Board of Selectmen may appoint up to six (6) associate members for similar terms in the <br /> same manner. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms in the same manner as in case of <br /> original appointments, <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article will increase the membership of the Board of Appeals from 3 to 5 <br /> members. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br /> Motion: I move the town vote to amend the zoning by-law as printed in the warrant, with the <br /> following change.- replace the third sentence of the new section 174-91 with the following text; <br /> "the members shall be appointed for terms of 5 years, with the term of one (1) member to expire <br /> each year." , and vote to implement the increase in membership, of the Board of Appeals as <br /> follows: In 2004, three members shall be appointed, one for a term of three years, one for a term <br /> of four years, and one for a term of five years., Thereafter, all appointments shall be for five <br /> years. <br /> Planning Board voted at a Public Hearing held on October 1., 2003 4-0 for approval. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 8:01 p.m. <br /> Article 12 <br /> To see if the Town will amend the Zoning Bylaw as follows: <br /> In Section 174-3, add the following new definitions in their proper alphabetical order: <br /> 44AISLE, DRIVING — A traveled path through a parking facility, providing access to the <br /> parking spaces. <br /> ALLEY - A public or private way primarily designed to serve as secondary access to the side or <br /> rear of those properties whose principal frontage is otherwise on a street. Not to be considered as <br /> a principal means of access to abutting property and not to be considered in determining <br /> adequate frontage or access for purposes of lot division. <br /> CALIPER - American Association of Nurserymen standard for measurement of trunk size of <br /> nursery stock. Caliper of the trunk shall be taken six (6) inches above the ground for trees up, to <br /> four (4) inches in diameter and twelve (12) inches above ground level for trees over four (4) <br /> inches in diameter. <br /> CURB - A vertical or sloping edge of a roadway designed to control vehicle movement or <br /> drainage and stabilize the pavement edge. Includes vertical barrier curbs, mountable curbs, <br /> "Cape Cod berms" and similar structures. <br /> October 20, 2003 Town Meeting <br />
