Article 5 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create two additional Firefighter/Paramedic positions for the Fire <br /> & Rescue Department to begin January 1, 2009, and further the Town vote to appropriate and <br /> transfer from available funds $86,031 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $46,8,01 to the <br /> Fire & Rescue Salary/Wage Account, $24,° to the Health Insurance Account, $2,800 to the <br /> Fire & Rescue Expense Account, $1,392 to the Medicare Account, $72 to the Group Life <br /> Insurance Account, and $10,000 to the County Retirement Account, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Fire Chief <br /> Explanation: This action creates and funds two additional firefighter positions to assist in <br /> staffing the Mashpee Fire/Rescue Station No. 2 daily during peak hours for the remainder of <br /> F'Y09. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0 with the condition that this <br /> level of staffing will allow the Fire /Rescue Station No. 2 to remain open year round. <br /> The Finance Committee does not recommend approval by a vote of 4-2. <br /> Motion made by Selectman George Green. <br /> Motion: I move Article 5 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of the phrase, "or <br /> take any other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion passes by majority at 7:40PM, <br /> Article 6 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer $8,000 from the Ambulance Receipts <br /> Reserved for Appropriation Account to the Fire & Rescue Department Fiscal 2009 Expense <br /> Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Fire Chief <br /> Explanation: This action will transfer available funds for the training of one Firefighter/EMT to <br /> the Paramedic level at the Cape Cod Community College. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 6-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman John Cahalane. <br /> Motion* I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer $8,000 from the Ambulance <br /> Receipts Reserved for Appropriation Account to the Fire & Rescue Department Fiscal 2009 <br /> Expense Account. <br /> October Town Meeting Warrant <br />
