Town of Mashpee Annual Town Meeting May 7, 2001 Meeting called to order at 7:50 p.m. 491 voters,present Quorum 0 Barnstable, s,s: Greetings To the Constables of the Town, In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summon the inhabitants of the Town of Mast pee who are qualified to vote in the elections to meet at the Quashnet School on Monday, the 7'day of May, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. for the following purposes: To act on the articles contained in the following Warrant. Article I To choose for a one-year term a burial agent, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanatlion.o This is the only position elected at the Annual Town Meeting. All other elected positions are included on the ballot of the Annual Election. The incumbent is Leigh Potter. Motion made by Wayne Taylor, Motion: I nominate Leigh Potter for the one-year term as burial agent. Motion passes unanimously at 7:51 p.m. Motion made by Karen Walden: I move, pursuant to M.G.L.c. 39, § 15, to dispense with a counted vote on the articles requiring a 2/3 vote, however, seven voters may question the moderators declaration of the vote and a counted vote shall occur. Motion passes at 7:52 pm. Article 2 To see if the Town will vote to accept the reports of the Town.officers, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: The 2000 Annual Town Report in which the reports of Town officers are presented is available at the Town Meeting and at the Town Hall. Motion made by Kenneth Marsters, Motion: I move the Town vote to accept the reports of the town officers.
