To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer from available funds $446,419 to <br /> provide for road improvement projects,under Chapter 90 related funds, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Department of Public Works <br /> Explanation: This article authorizes the use of funds to be 10�0% reimbursed by the Commonwealth of <br /> Massachusetts. These funds are the apportioned State Gas Tax distributed to cities and towns. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate $446,419 to provide for road improvement projects in and for <br /> the town, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9�O of the Massachusetts General Laws. <br /> Motion passes at 9:16 p.m. <br /> Article 16 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create the position of Deputy Director under the Massachusetts Laborers' <br /> District Council, Unit A, for the Department of Public Works, and further to raise and appropriate $,68,915, <br /> with said funds to be distributed as follows: $60,000 to the DPW Salary/Wage Account, $8,445 to the Medical <br /> Insurance Account, $435 to the Medicare Account, and $35 to the Group Insurance Account, or take any other <br /> action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Department of Public Works <br /> Explanation: With the expansion of town needs, the department needs a person to assist with procurement, <br /> project development and project management. During the past 10 years, the Town has added 76 additional <br /> roads to be maintained. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by John Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to create a Deputy Director position under the Massachusetts Laborer's <br /> District Council Contract, Unit A, for the Department of Public Works, and further, the Town vote to raise and <br /> appropriate $58,370 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $49,225 to the Department of Public Works <br /> Salary/Wage Account, $8,445 to the Medical Insurance Account, $665 to the Medicare Account, and $35 to <br /> the Group Insurance Account. <br /> Motion passes 9:19 p.m. <br /> Article 17 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $275,000 for the Mashpee <br /> River Dredging Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, for the purpose of <br /> dredging the Mashpee River, including all expenses incidental and relating thereto, including, but not limited to <br /> surveying, engineering, permitting, dredging, dredge material disposal, and site restoration, and further to <br /> determine whether to raise said appropriation by borrowing, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Waterways Commission <br /> 22 <br />
