Explanation: This article seeks funding to dredge approximately 18,0�00 cubic yards,from the Mashpee River. Permits for dredging the Mashpee River are in the process of being obtained for the upcoming dredging season (November to March). The estimated cost of dredging includes site preparation, dredging, and restoration. Recommendation: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. Motion made by Wayne Taylor. Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate $275,000, for expenditure by the Board of Selectmen, for the purpose of dredging the Mashpee River, including the payment of all other expenses incidental and related thereto, and that to meet this appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, is hereby authorized to borrow said amount under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7(17) of the Massachusetts General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor. Motion made to 'Indefinitely postpone at 9:43 p.m. Motion to indefinitely postpone defeated 9:34 p.m. Motion passes at 9:36 p.m. Article 18 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer$26,675 from the Waterways Improvement Account to the Waterways Improvement Maintenance Account, to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, or take any other action relating thereto. Motion passes at 9:36 p.m. Article 19 To see if the Town. will vote to authorize the Library Trustees and the Board of Selectmen to apply for any library construction grants which might be available to defray all or any part of the cost of the design, construction and equipping of the library project and furthermore, to authorize the Library Trustees and/or the Board of Selectmen to accept and expend any grant funds from the state or any other agencies and/or to accept donations received for library design, construction or equipment, or take any other action relating thereto.
