Article 12 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Cemetery Reserve Receipt <br /> Account $4,,300 to the Cemetery Maintenance Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Cemetery Commission <br /> Explanation: This article proposes to use funds received from the sale of plots at the cemeteries <br /> for operating expenses related to their maintenance. Currently, one half of the funds received <br /> from sales are deposited into the Cemetery Reserve Receipt Account, an account set up <br /> specifically for the collection of fees for maintenance. A similar transfer was approved at the <br /> December 9, 2002 Special Town Meeting for FY03 operating expenses. <br /> Recommendation,: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille, <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer $3,000 from the Cemetery Reserved <br /> Receipt Account to the Cemetery Maintenance Account. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:15, p.m. <br /> Article 13 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to petition the General Court for special legislation to reclassify the <br /> Animal Control Officer as a Group 4 member of the Barnstable County Retirement System, or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Police Chief <br /> Explanation: As a part of the negotiations to settle the collective bargaining agreement between <br /> the Town and the MLDC Administrator's Unit, the Board of Selectmen has agreed to sponsor an <br /> article to shift the Animal Control Officer into Group 4 of the retirement system. This is the <br /> group which includes law enforcement officers. <br /> Motion made by Kenneth Marsters. <br /> Motion: I move Article 13 be voted as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the phrase, <br /> "or take any other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:1.6 p.m. <br /> Article 14 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize and instruct the Board of Selectmen to petition the <br /> General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for enactment of the legislation set forth <br /> 16 <br />
