Explanation-, This amount of money is required to fund the remainder of the Fire/Rescue <br /> Department's Expense Account. This shortfall is due to unexpected costly vehicle repairs and <br /> training/travel expenses for the replacement of two firefighters due to unplanned retirements. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 6-�0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman George Green. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer $20,000 from the Fire/Rescue <br /> Salary/Wage Account to the Fire/Rescue Expense Account. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:14PM. <br /> Article 5 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation Fund, <br /> in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Ch.44B s5, $250,000 for the purpose of funding the <br /> restoration of the Old Indian Meetinghouse, including necessary costs and expenses related <br /> thereto, as recommended by the Community Preservation Act Committee, or take any other <br /> actions relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Community Preservation Act Committee <br /> Explanation: Funding for this article would be derived from the 10% budgeted Historical <br /> Reserve Account of the CPA. To assist in the second phase of restoration of the historic Old <br /> Indian Meetinghouse, a building listened in the National Register of Histon*c Places. The <br /> building, over three hundred years, has served as a school, a town meeting hall and a church. <br /> CPA funding would assist in the restoration and preservation of the interior work. The interior <br /> of the facility shall consist of original materials where possible to authenticate the building. The <br /> restoration of the Old Indian Meetinghouse, the oldest Indian Meetinghouse in the United States <br /> is an essential part of the history of the Town of Mashpee and its restoration and preservation <br /> will contribute to Mashpee's unique character. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 6-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Wayne Taylor, <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation <br /> Fund Historic Reserve, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Ch.44B §5, $250,000 for the <br /> purpose of funding the restoration of the Old Indian Meetinghouse, including necessary costs and <br /> expenses related thereto, as recommended by the Community Preservation Act Committee. <br /> Motion passes at 7:15PM,. <br /> 3 <br />
