Town of Mashpee <br /> Special Town Meeting <br /> June 2, 2003 <br /> Meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. <br /> 298 voters present <br /> Quorum 100 <br /> Barnstable, ss: Greetings <br /> To the Constables of the Town, <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and <br /> summon the inhabitants of the Town of Mash pee who are qualified to vote in the elections to <br /> meet at the Quashnet School on Monday, the 2nd day of June, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. for the following <br /> purposes: <br /> To act on the articles contained in the following Warrant. <br /> Motion made by Karen Walden. <br /> Motion: I move pursuant to MGL Chapter 39 Section 15 to dispense with a counted vote on <br /> those articles requiring a 2/3rds, vote, however, seven voters may question the Moderator's <br /> declaration of the vote and a counted vote shall occur. <br /> Motion passes at 7:38 p.m. <br /> Article I <br /> To see if the Town will vote to pay, in addition to the payment of fifty per cent of a premium for <br /> contributory group life, hospital, surgical, medical, dental and other health insurance for <br /> employees retired from the service of the Town, and their dependents, a subsidiary or additional <br /> rate, pursuant to the provisions of G.L.c.3213, §9E, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This, article if adopted would allow the municipality the ability to pay greater <br /> than 50% of the cost of health insurance for retirees. <br /> Recommendation: Finance Committee takes no position on article. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br /> Motion: I move that the Town vote to pay, in addition to the payment of 50�% of a premium for <br /> contributory group life, hospital, surgical, medical, dental and other health insurance for <br /> employees retired from the service of the Town, and their dependents, a subsidiary or additional <br /> rate, pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 32B, §9E. <br />
