To see if the Town will vote to accept the doings of the <br /> Se ec-tmen relative to the proposed revision of layout of a portion <br /> of Great Neck Road and a portion of DeGrass Road (which layouts <br /> were originally accepted at Annual Town Meeting of 1970) , said <br /> proposed revision was discussed and accepted by the Sdectmen at a <br /> public hearing at the Mashpee Town Hall held on July . , 1970, <br /> said revisions and alterations are shown on plans prepared by <br /> Charles N. Savery, Inc. entitled: "Town of Mashpee Plan of Great <br /> Neck Road as altered by Selectmen - Scale : 1 in. = 40 feet - May <br /> 29, 1970" and "Plan of DeGrass Road, as relocated by the Selectmen, " <br /> dated June 19, 1970, or do anything in relation thereto. Said <br /> plans are presently on file at the office of the Town Clerk. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Selectman Rollins : At the Annual Town Meeting we laid this out <br /> as a public way. Prior to the Town Meeting we had a preliminary <br /> hearing. Not many showed up. Subsequent to annual town meeting <br /> it was suggested that land necessary for the widening of the road <br /> be taken from the side of owners unknown and non-taxable . This <br /> is why this relocating move was made . It is better to take land <br /> from people you don' t know than people you know. <br /> Motion was made and seconded Article 8 be accepted as read. <br /> So voted, unanimously. <br /> Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds <br /> Me sum oT_Two Hundred Eighty-Three and 03/100 ($283.03) dollars <br /> in order to raise the annual salary of the Highway Surveyor from <br /> $6825 .00 to $7300.00, said increase to become effective as of <br /> May 25 , 1970. Submitted by Highway Surveyor. <br /> NOT RECOMMENDED BY FINANCE COMMITTEE. <br /> Kevin O 'Connell : I move the article be accepted as read. Seconded. <br /> Floor : ( ?Fitzgerald, N. ) Why didn' t the Finance Committee recommend <br /> this? <br /> Garland: (Chairman of Fin. Com. ) We recognize the fact that this <br /> office is entitled to a salary commensurate with its duties . <br />
