Submitted by Board of Selectmen. F. Hicks : I move Article 6 be accepted as read. Seconded. So voted. Article 7 . To see if the Town will vote to take from available un s t'Fe sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) dollars for the Park & Recreation expense account, or take any other action thereon. RECOMMENDED BY FINANCE COMMITTEE. Motion was made and seconded article 7 be accepted as read. Seconded, and so voted. Article 8 . To see if the Town will vote to accept the doings of the Se ec-tmen relative to the proposed revision of layout of a portion of Great Neck Road and a portion of DeGrass Road (which layouts were originally accepted at Annual Town Meeting of 1970) , said proposed revision was discussed and accepted by the Sdectmen at a public hearing at the Mashpee Town Hall held on July . , 1970, said revisions and alterations are shown on plans prepared by Charles N. Savery, Inc. entitled: "Town of Mashpee Plan of Great Neck Road as altered by Selectmen - Scale : 1 in. = 40 feet - May 29, 1970" and "Plan of DeGrass Road, as relocated by the Selectmen, " dated June 19, 1970, or do anything in relation thereto. Said plans are presently on file at the office of the Town Clerk. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. Selectman Rollins : At the Annual Town Meeting we laid this out as a public way. Prior to the Town Meeting we had a preliminary hearing. Not many showed up. Subsequent to annual town meeting it was suggested that land necessary for the widening of the road be taken from the side of owners unknown and non-taxable . This is why this relocating move was made . It is better to take land from people you don' t know than people you know. Motion was made and seconded Article 8 be accepted as read. So voted, unanimously. Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds Me sum oT_Two Hundred Eighty-Three and 03/100 ($283.03) dollars in order to raise the annual salary of the Highway Surveyor from $6825 .00 to $7300.00, said increase to become effective as of May 25 , 1970. Submitted by Highway Surveyor. NOT RECOMMENDED BY FINANCE COMMITTEE. Kevin O 'Connell : I move the article be accepted as read. Seconded. Com. ) We recognize the fact that this office is entitled to a salary commensurate with its duties .
