The Town has enlisted the Woods Hole Group to work with the Planning Director to submit the
funding applications to the State.
• Commission Reorganization: Vote for Chairman, Vice Chair, Secretary.
Mr. Sweet requested that we add this as an agenda item. The group agreed to vote at the next
meeting.
• Recap: Childs River Restoration onsite visit.
The Division of Ecological Restoration came down and looked at the aspects of this project. This
was the last step before the actual construction starts. It's good news to see that this project is
underway.
• Status: Great Blue Heron, Black Crowned Night Heron mortalities pending toxicology report.
The cause of death was blunt trauma to the liver, not related to toxicity, disease, avian flu, or any
sort of projectile. The actual death was drowning. The general consensus is there are certain
areas that lend themselves to hunting areas for Great Blue Heron, the theory is that they are
fighting each other.
• Brian Weeden: Prospective Associate Commissioner
Brian Weeden wrote a letter of interest to join the Commission. He introduced himself and stated
that he's the liaison to the Natural Resource Commission for the Tribe, and the Chairperson for
the Land Use and Planning Committee. He also serves on the Town's Historical Commission and
the Town's Review Committee.
All members endorsed the approval of Brian Weeden joining the Commission.
• ADDITIONAL TOPICS:
(This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably anticipate would be
discussed).
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. McKay moved to adjourn, Mr. O'Neil seconded.
Vote: 6-0 unanimous
Meeting adjourned at 7:08pm.
Respectf II s mitted,
Katrina Ewing
Board Secretary
