Article 10 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to support Mashpee's participation in feasibility planning for a regional <br /> wastewater collection and treatment facility at Joint Base Cape Cod, to authorize the Town Manager to <br /> negotiate and execute a Memorandum of Understanding with neighboring municipalities relative to joint <br /> development of plans for the design, construction and operation of such a regional wastewater collection <br /> and treatment facility, and, further, to raise, transfer and/or borrow and appropriate the sum of$250,000 to <br /> fund such further investigation and planning of this regional approach, including evaluation of options, <br /> conceptual design of wastewater collection, treatment and disposal facilities and related appurtenances, <br /> permitting requirements, and the requisite redrafting of the Town's Comprehensive Wastewater <br /> Management Plan, associated notices of pro]ect change, and other related activities;or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article seeks $250,000 for Mashpee to take part in feasibility planning for a wastewater <br /> and collection facility on Joint Base Cape Cod and for the Town Manager to negotiate with adjacent towns <br /> and execute a Memorandum of Understanding to move the regional project forward. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 10 by a vote of 4-0 <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 10 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> MOTION MADE BY SELECTMAN WEEDEN: <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to support Mashpee's participation in feasibility planning for a regional <br /> wastewater collection and treatment facility at Joint Base Cape Cod, to authorize the Town Manager to <br /> negotiate and execute a Memorandum of Understanding with neighboring municipalities relative to <br /> joint development of plans for the design, construction and operation of such a regional wastewater <br /> collection and treatment facility and, further, to appropriate and transfer the sum of $250,000 from <br /> revenue available for appropriation to fund such further investigation and planning of this regional <br /> approach, as specified in Article 10. <br /> Motion made to amend Article 10 made by F. Thomas Fudala to delete the following: "including <br /> evaluation of options, conceptual design of wastewater collection, treatment and disposal facilities and <br /> related appurtenances,permitting requirements, and the requisite redrafting of the Town's Comprehensive <br /> Wastewater Management Plan, associated notices of project change, and other related activities; or take <br /> any other action relating thereto"passes at 8:46 pm <br /> Article 10 passes unanimously as amended at 8:48 pm <br /> Article 11 <br /> To see if the Town will accept the layouts as public ways of Pierre Vernier Drive,Katian Way and Gunter's <br /> Lane (Pimlico Heights) as shown on plans entitled "Road Taking Plan Pimlico Heights —Pierre Vernier <br /> Drive" , "Road Taking Plan Pimlico Heights —Gunter's Lane" and"Road Taking Plan Pimlico Heights — <br /> Katian Way"in Mashpee,MA,dated January 31,2018,and prepared by Cape&Islands Engineering,which <br /> layouts shall have been filed in the Office of the Town Clerk not later than seven days prior to the date of <br /> the vote hereunder,and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift,purchase,or eminent domain <br /> taking any land necessary for the purposes of such ways as so laid out, and further authorize the Board of <br /> 22 <br />
