Town Accountant's office in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 44, Section <br /> 53E 1/2, to be expended under the direction of the Council on Aging, in order to place <br /> anticipated revenues collected from program income which shall be used to further the <br /> operation of programs under the Council on Aging, and to establish the limit on expenditures <br /> from said account for Fiscal Year 1997 at $3,000. <br /> Motion passes at 7:25 p.m. <br /> Article 17. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $5,,650.00 <br /> to the Tri-Town Circle, Horseshoe Bend Way Water Account, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Health <br /> Recommendatiom, The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. <br /> Motion made by John Doherty, Chairman, Board of Health. <br /> Motion made to inaeunitely postpone. <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone passes at 7:40 p.m. <br /> Article 18. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to establish a property tax work-off voucher system in which <br /> income eligible Mashpee residents perform services for the Town in exchange for compensation <br /> which can be used for the payment of property taxes, and raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> available funds $5,000 to the Council on Aging Property Tax Voucher System Account to fund <br /> such program for Fiscal Year 1997, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Council on Aging <br /> Explanation: The programs is designed to match municipal position opportunities with income <br /> eligible Mashpee residents seeking tax relief, and assist them in the payment of property tax <br /> bills through payment for services rendered to the Town. The program will operate through and <br /> be administered by the Council on Aging. Program goals will be to assist citizens with property <br /> tax bills, to increase involvement in municipal government and the school system. <br /> Eligibility requirements include but are not limited to: <br /> Homeowner or current spouse <br /> Full time resident of Mashpee <br /> Own and occupy the property for which Mashpee taxes are paid and for which a rebate is <br /> requested <br /> Willingness to present a copy of current Mashpee Tax Notice upon application to <br /> program <br /> Submits completed application <br />
