Mashpee Code by adding a new paragraph b) to Section 100-1 as follows: <br /> Chapter 100 <br /> Handicapped Parking <br /> b) Parking spaces designated as reserved under the provisions of paragraph (a) shall be <br /> identified by the use of above grade signs with white lettering against a blue background <br /> and shall bear the words "Handicapped Parking: Special Plate Required. Unauthorized <br /> Vehicles May be Removed at Owner's Expense"'; shall be as near as possible to a <br /> building entrance or walkway; shall, be adjacent to curb ramps or other unobstructed <br /> methods permitting sidewalk access to a handicapped person; and shall be twelve feet <br /> wide or two eight-foot wide areas with four feet of cross hatch between them. (MGL <br /> C.40 S21 Subsection 23b signage/dimen.sions). <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the ADA Committee <br /> Motion: Article 44 be voted as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the phrase, or"take <br /> any other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion passes at 9-.,25 p.m. <br /> Article �45 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-law, Article X (Signs) as follows: <br /> A. Section 174-5 113 currently reads: New Signs. A new sign shall not hereafter be erected, <br /> constructed, altered or maintained except as herein provided and until after a permit has been <br /> issued by the Building Inspector and the 'bond, if required, shall have been filed in accordance <br /> with Section 174-57. Signs over twenty (20) square feet, existing as of the effective date of this <br /> chapter shall have their continued use subject to the issuance of a permit from the Building <br /> Inspector. The deadline for obtaining such a permit is September 1, 198,5. Any sign over six (6) <br /> square feet in a commercial or industrial zoning district, or in a commercial, office or industrial <br /> use in a residential zoning district, shall require review and comment by the Design Review <br /> Committee prior to the issuance of a permit for said sign by the Building Inspector. <br /> I. By deleting the second sentence of Section 174-5 1 B and replacing it with: <br /> Pre-existing permitted signs may continue, all other signs must be permitted as required <br /> a, <br /> by this By-law. <br /> Explanation: To reflect the changes to this article, as it currently refers to 1985. <br /> 11. Also by making the following changes to the last sentence of Section 174- 1 B: <br /> All signs over six (6) square feet shall require review and comment by the Design Review <br /> Committee prior to the issuance of a permit for said sign by the Building Inspector. <br /> Explanation: Changing any to all provides more clarity. Deleting specifically identified areas <br /> will provide that all signs over six square feet can have Design Review comment and review. <br /> 19 <br />
