Motion to transfer $950 passes unanimously at 7:57 p.m. <br /> Article 7 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from the Reserved for <br /> Extraordinary or Unforeseen Expenditures Account the sum of$41,743.45 funds to be distributed <br /> as follows: $19,794.18 to the 1989 Provision for Abatement Account and $21,949.27 to the <br /> 1990 Provision for Abatement Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Town Accountant <br /> Explanation: This article is required to fund current deficits in the 1989 and 1990 Provision for <br /> Abatements Account. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from the Reserved for Extraordinary <br /> or Unforeseen Expenditures Account $41,743.45 to be distributed as follows: $19,794.18 to the <br /> 1989 Provision for Abatement Account and $21,949.27 to the 1990 Provision for Abatement <br /> Account. <br /> Motion to transfer $41,743.45 passes unanimously at 8:00 p.m. <br /> Article 8 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from Revenue Available for <br /> Appropriation a sum of money to the Police Department Salary/Wage Account, or take any other <br /> action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Police Department <br /> Explanation: The Police Salary and Wage Account is in a deficit this fiscal year (FY95) due to <br /> extraordinary and unforeseen labor/payroll costs. Specifically, the unforeseen and extraordinary <br /> payroll expenditures resulted from police officers on extended injury, administrative, and sick <br /> leave. The extended leaves mentioned required the scheduling of police officers on overtime to <br /> replace the employees out on the extended leaves. The uncontrolled leaves required the filling of <br /> 158 eight hour shift vacancies at the overtime rate. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer $83,000 from Revenue Available for <br /> Appropriation to the Police Department Salary/Wage Account. <br /> Motion to transfer $83,000 passes unanimously at 8:07 p.m. <br /> 4 <br />
