and further, to authorize the Selectmen to take such actions as are necessary to make such <br /> application consistent with the Council's requirements, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article authorizes the Board of Selectmen to make application to the State to <br /> designate the Town's Industrial Park as an Economic Opportunity Area for economic <br /> development purposes. This designation enables businesses seeking to locate or expand in the <br /> industrial park to apply for Massachusetts investment tax credits and local property tax incentives <br /> in order to create jobs and economic development for our community. This is a step in a multi- <br /> stage process, and any projects under this designation will require an additional vote of Town <br /> Meeting for approval. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Vaccaro. <br /> Motion: I move Article 23 be voted as printed in the warrant except for the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto." <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:09 p.m. <br /> Article 24 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to transfer the care, custody, management and control of the portion <br /> of land described in this Article from the Board of Selectmen for municipal use, including <br /> construction of a high school and related facilities, to the Board of Selectmen for such municipal <br /> use, and in addition for the purpose of conveying a conservation restriction, and to authorize the <br /> Board of Selectmen to grant to the United States of America, acting by and through the Fish & <br /> Wildlife Service and its successors and permitted assigns a Conservation Restriction in perpetuity, <br /> under the provisions of MGL Chapter 184, Sections 31-33, on a portion of that parcel of Town- <br /> owned land shown on a "Plan of Land to be Acquired by the Town for School Purposes in <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts," dated December 5, 1994 and prepared by BSS Design, Inc., which lies <br /> within the following boundaries: <br /> Beginning at the northeasternmost corner of said parcel, thence westerly 500 feet <br /> along the southern sideline of the Nathan B.
