Motion passes unanimously at 8:51 p.m. <br /> Article 13 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a <br /> sum of money to the Stabilization Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article places funds from available revenue in the Town's <br /> Stabilization Fund. The Finance Committee has established a goal for the Stabilization <br /> Account of five percent of the total budget. At the time of publication, the amount <br /> available for transfer was not finalized. The estimate of funds available for this transfer <br /> is $2.1 million. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available <br /> for Appropriation $2,000,000 to the Stabilization Account. <br /> Motion passes at 8:51 p.m. <br /> Article 14 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to have its elected Treasurer/Tax Collector become an <br /> appointed Treasurer/Tax Collector of the Town according to MGL Chapter 41, <br /> Section 1B, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article seeks to change the Town's Treasurer/Tax Collector from <br /> an elected position to an appointed position. With the announced retirement of the <br /> Town's long-time Treasurer/Tax Collector, this change will guarantee the long-term <br /> stability and professionalism of this key financial Department Head position. This <br /> office is responsible for handling collections and disbursements of over thirty million <br /> dollars annually. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move the Town have its elected Treasurer/Tax Collector become an <br /> appointed Treasurer/Tax Collector of the Town according to MGL Chapter 41, <br />
