Article 25 To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter 37 of the Town Bylaws to add the following new Section 37 - 8.1: "any municipal employee for whom a term of office is not specified by these Bylaws or by Massachusetts General Law shall not be subject to reappointment for any term of office." and furthermore, vote that the position of Town Planner created at the May, 1984 Annual Town Meeting shall be placed under the supervision of the Planning Board, or take any other action related thereto. Submitted by Petition Motion made to accept as read with the exception of"or take any action related there to" Motion made to amend and delete paragraph ".and furthermore, vote that the position of town planner created at the May 1984 Annual Town Meeting shall be placed under the supervision of the Planning Board. Motion to amend defeated 79-64 at 11:00 P. M. Motion to reconsider motion defeated 6178 at 11:13 P.M. Motion to accept as amended the following: "any municipal employee for whom a term of office is not specified by these Bylaws or by Massachusetts General Law shall be appointed for an indefinite period of time, subject to removal for cause." Amended motion passes at 11:12 p.m. Town Meeting adjourned at 11:12 p.m. And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof, one at the Town Hall, one at the Post Office, and one each on the bulletin boards, fourteen days at least before said meeting. Hereof fail not and make returns of this Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting.
