To see if the Town will vote <br /> to authorize the Highway Department <br /> to hire two full-time employes. The <br /> `salaries to be left to the discretion of <br /> the Personnel Board, or take any other <br /> action thereon. Submitted by the;High_ <br /> !way Department. <br /> NOT RECObZRZE...D. <br /> Motion was trade and seconded that Article 29 be accepted <br /> as read. <br /> Garland® Arose to raise objection to the Article® I am <br /> confused® This Article calls for the hiring of two full-time <br /> employees whose salaries are to be left open, and yet in the next <br /> Article he states, (Mr® Green) , and gives specifics as to the <br /> amounts needed for salaries for full-tine men® It is not <br /> at all clear® Were these monies and jobs approved by the Per- <br /> sonnel Board? <br /> Green: Yes. I have a le�ter of authorization from. the <br /> Personnel Board® (He here presents a copy of the letter to <br /> the Finance Committee. He did this with the remark that the <br /> Finance Committee already had a copy of the letter) ® He stated <br /> that when he submitted the Article giving the amounts of honey <br /> that was needed to cover the salaries at that time he had made <br /> a definite study of the amounts needed for gages that had been <br /> set by the Personnel Board at that time. <br /> From the Floor: What is the date of the letter? <br /> Green: January 5, 1972 <br /> Claire Gillis : How many frul ", time employes does Mr. Green <br /> have? <br /> Green; Five® <br /> Member of the Finance ® I do not believe the salaries should <br /> be left to the discretion of the Personnel Board® The Personnel <br /> Board has no way of knowing how mach money there is available to <br /> pay them.
